Welcome to the Home of Bungy. This is where it all began back in 1988 with the world’s first commercial Bungy jump site.

The Kawarau Bridge site helped cement Queenstown’s reputation as the adventure capital of the world. Today our centre is host to over 400,000 people each year while showcasing our pioneering spirit and New Zealand’s culture of innovation and adventure. Our bungy centre overlooks the Kawarau River and was purpose built into its dramatic landscape.

On-site kitchen facilities mean that we can cater to a variety of events including gala dinners and team events. With our exhilarating activities, stunning location, and event experience, your only problem will be topping it next year.

Our operating hours are 9:30am-4:00pm daily. For events these typically run from 6:00pm to 12:00am however quotes are tailored to your request.

THE VENUE

The Kawarau Bungy Centre is an iconic adventure destination and the birthplace of commercial bungy jumping way back in 1988. Nestled along the picturesque Kawarau River in Queenstown, this historic venue invites you to go back to where it all began and experience the thrill of bungy jumping off the historic Kawarau Bridge. If that’s not your speed, your guests can also take a turn on Kawarau Zipride, or Kawarau Swing, also located at this site.

Bungy Demonstration

Kick-start your team event with a showcase of five different Bungy jump styles expertly performed by our jump master crew. Complete with fun facts, history timelines this is the perfect warm up to encourage your guests to take up the Bungy challenge themselves for a once in a lifetime corporate incentive event opportunity here at the home of Bungy.

Our preferred in-house caterer for Queenstown is Queenstown Catering, who we have had a long-standing successful relationship with for over 10 years.

The Queenstown Catering team take the utmost pride in offering professional catering for corporate events. Using only the freshest produce, we cater events of all shapes & sizes. You can treat your corporate groups to an elegant 3 course meal of locally sourced produce. Alternatively, you can opt for a selection from delicious shared plates menu. Welcome guests to your cocktail party complete with a selection of tapas and canapés; from seared venison to mouth-watering crayfish these dishes from the “small plate” menu are specially designed to allow your guests to mingle and enjoy the venue.

Create a truly exciting corporate team event by placing interactive food stations around the Bungy Centre; dazzle your guests with a live cooking show whilst they watch their friends and colleagues take the leap of the bridge! Introducing you to New Zealand’s Maori culture, a song and dance performance by our local talent, including a powerful warrior’s haka

Aerial Silk Performers
A stunning performance that can include a champagne service on arrival

Fireworks Display
Includes a 5-7min display and all compliance pre-work and permits.

Legend of the Lake Performance
Developed by our friends at Watson & Wyatt and TomTom Productions. The ‘Legend of the Lake’ Play is the legend of the birth of Lake Whakatipu.
This performance is a combination of a play, a visual screen animation, a stunning soundtrack and a wonderful colourful narration combined to make this impactful stage performance. The option of a Hapa Haka group performance post show is available.

We work exclusively with the world class TomTom Productions for all your Audio, Lighting and Visual needs. Big or small, they will add the magic touch to your event.
